School-based Traineeship (Certificate II in Warehousing Operations)

Ella Harrison applied for Reece through our workplace learning program and after successfully completing both the testing and interview process, commenced her school based traineeship with enthusiasm in November, by working full time during her Year 11 school holidays. This year, to complete her qualification, she will attend her workplace one day per week and on Saturdays.

Ella choose this pathway to assist her with her application for the Defence Forces when she graduates school this year. She is applying to become a Supply Chain Specialist and this experience at Reece, combined with her Certificates in Business and Sport Recreation, will ensure her application is competitive.

To date, she has received training so that she can use the Reece computer system which contains a suite of software including database management for cataloguing stock, and accounting for ordering, invoicing and banking. Her work tasks include stock management, receiving inwards goods, general customer service for regular tradesperson and walk-in retail clients, as well as packing and sending out orders for mining companies. Now that she has demonstrated her ability, she is undertaking training from the Reece suppliers which include Hunter, Astral Pools, Nelson and many others.

Ella would like to recommend Reece as an employer to other students at Ursula Frayne Catholic College because they have a well-developed ‘user friendly’ training system which, combined with their Employee/Employer Values, makes it a very conducive place to work.
